8/15/2023 0 Comments Mtg cardsmith artwork reddit![]() I have a decent sized collection, but even with cards collected over two decades, I would need to buy new cards to have anything but the most casual deck. I eventually quit because of the predatory pricing model. I enjoyed the digital version of the game, Magic Arena, for awhile when it came out. After moving to SF I would occasionally play with some friends who had a game group or do drafts. I started again a bit in college, where I learned enough to play properly with other peoples decks. As a kid I just liked the big monsters and didn’t really understand the rules. I’ve been playing Magic in some capacity since I was 10 years old. I really like ] (too bad it totally sucks) and ] too. After playing a game of Magic the Gathering with a friends kids, I decided to see if there was a way to get back in the game without taking out a second mortgage. ] tells a great little story (that tiny flower on the robot's chest! Aww!), and ] is gorgeous and really rewards careful attention. Vincent Price has done some great stuff too. Some beautiful intricacy, especially with color, in his work. The new art for it feels so boring and non-threatening to me! ] has pretty cool art too, feels like high level comic art to me.įor recent stuff, I enjoy Nils Hamm a lot, especially ]. ]'s original Weatherlight art is also an early favorite. These days I think it's a little more cute than totally badass, but I adore it all the same. Ice Ace art ] was one of the coolest damn things middle school me had ever seen. I love almost everything that Guay has done for the game, but I'm having trouble picking what to single out. The charm that folks like the Foglios and Amy Weber brought to the game is also sorely missed. They feel like the Magic version of The Real Ghostbusters ghosts in the best way. ] still cracks me up almost 20 years later (those faces!), and the little monsters on ] are just so delightful. I also really miss DiTerlizzi and Ian Miller. ![]() The 9th edition foil of that art is breathtaking.ĭon't know how to autocard judge Hanna, so here's a link: I've had a soft spot for her ] since I got a long box with that art on top when I was first starting out. So much of Nielsen's stuff is outstanding. Terese Nielsen's recent Hanna judge promo is absolutely gorgeous (and I'm a big fan of Hanna and Nielsen, so match made in heaven for me). r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
